Emirates Airline Interview

Everyone had dream, same goes to me. Become a flight attendance is one of the goal in my life and I’m still chasing for my dream.

Today I would like to share my Emirates Airline interview experience with you guys. Who are interested you may take a look of my post, this is just part of the procedure that I’ve gone through. For who aren’t you may just click X on your up right :)

To be frank this is my first tried for Emirates Airline, although I’m not successful in this time but I’ll never give up. I would definitely re-apply after six months. (That’s the application rules for Emirates Airline.)

OPEN INTERVIEW DAY (12 Nov 2011)

Document thingy that you have to bring along: Resume/CV, Passport size photo x2 pcs and full length photo.

P/s: Bring extra passport size photo and full length photo if possible. Sometimes have to attach with application form.

Time: Registration starts at approximately 9.00 am – 4.00 pm. Pretty girl and handsome boy required queue up and handed your resume, passport size and full length photo to the requirement agent. After that arm reach test - (212cms, on tip toes) follow by the group discussion. All the candidates will be grouped up and 15 candidates in a group and discuss about ‘’topic’. (Topic of the day-If you’re president tell me the 3 things you want to change in Malaysia) It is a group discussion so everyone give some idea and conclude up with the answer and telling interviewer-recruitment agent. On the same day will get the answer either pass or fail. The PASS letter.

For those who are passing require to attend for a briefing (4.00 pm – 6.00 pm) on the same day as well. During the briefing they will show you some video clips of Dubai, Crew life and some crew experience. Besides, brief guidelines of cabin crew salary & allowances. Finish my open interview at approximately 7.00 pm.

SECOND INTERVIEW (30 Nov 2011)

Document thingy that you have to bring along: The PASS letter. (In case they want to check)

Time: Second interview starts at approximately 9.00 am. There are two interviewers from Emirates Airline to interview the candidates. First of all they show the candidates some video clips of Dubai culture, A380 in-flight entertainment offered aboard lounge, spa shower, suite room and some luxury experience that you never had with any other airlines because Emirates is the FIRST airline who offer this kind of Luxury life in the cabin.

After that, they start ask question and want you to ask question regarding Emirates airline something like how much you know about this company. No mark count but you may impress them during this section. Furthermore, everyone would get a reference number and group up according to the number. Total 3 stage for Second Interview which is Group discussion, English test and Group discussion again. There will be pass or fail announce on the spot for every stage. Group discussion (2 questions): Total 4 groups and 15 candidates each group. I’m in group 3 and the question we got is ‘‘Tell us something that your partner want to throw away since so long ago but he/she keep it until now. Why? ’’ and ‘’What is the advantage that you life in Dubai and leave away your country? ’’ Group 4 got this question ‘‘Tell us something that your partner want to throw away since so long ago but he/she keep it until now. Why? ’’ and ‘’ What is the disadvantage that you live in Dubai and leave your country away?’’ There is total 2 group in the same function hall so that I knew what’s the question for group 4.

**Your Partner will be your group member who seat beside you during the group discussion.

For those successful in Group discussion have to sit for English test and yes I did. The PASS.

ENGLISH TEST: Objective question-Grammar, Vocabulary and write an essay. The PASS.

Group Discussion: (1 question): Total 3 groups, 8 candidates for our group. I’m in group 2 and the question we got is ‘‘You’re the hotel manager, there is an incident due to the reservation system problem and over book. Now hotel only have 5 vacant room but there is 10 guest in wait-list, please select 5 guest that you would like to give him/her the room and reject 5 guest. Why?’’ In this stage interviewer keep shooting and ask question due to our answer.

Unfortunately I’ve fail for this stage. I think the reasons why I fail, because I just answer question but not bring up the reasons and discuss with group. I answer: I think we should give Mrs. Song the room because she is patient. Thus, she got the priority to get the room compare with others. I should answer in this way: ‘Pertaining to the Mrs. Song cases and the situation we should consider give her the room because she is patient she need to rest don’t you think of the safety and comfort reasons for a guest with illness?’

Blaming myself after get the fail letter =(

I should throw question while answering question. Haih….mistake ahh…

FINAL INTERVIEW

Regret to inform that I have not got through the final. Thus, I’m unable to share what is going on during the final interview.
