Still remember the 1st attempt for EK interview is how happening and thanks god to giving me a chance to experience it. Although I'm not successful at the first time, but it did not stop me from chasing my dream.

Today, I'm here again to share the same topic but slightly different process of the interview compared to the one I did in year 2011.

Assessment Day

Date        : 1.12.2014
Location  :Johor Bahru
Time        :9:00 am sharp

9:00 am sharp candidates will be given a sticker a.k.a name tag with your name and reference number for Assessment Day. Basically there will be 3 stages for Assessment Day which is Group Activity, Group discussion/Role Play and English test. Fyi, they will eliminate at every stage.

After distribution of the reference number, candidates will be grouped accordingly based on the number for the 1st stage of Assessment Day - Group Activity.

Group Activity

There are 2 big circle seats in the function room with approximately 15 candidates in a circle and every 3 candidates will shared a card. There is different item showed on the card. Example: Mirror, paper bag, balloons, starfish, lipstick, stocking, bucket, bottle, tomatoes and so on. Each group have to discuss with their group members in 10 minutes and each candidate have to give an idea on how to use the item in an unusual way.

I guess they want to see how you interact with others and how creative you are. As a cabin Crew you are required to be resourceful right? =)
For those who pass for this assessment will be called by reference number and proceed to the next assessment - Group discussion/Role Play.

Before proceed to the role play session, interviewer will distribute a copy of the grooming guideline for you to refer. At the same time will be commencing the Arm Reach Test. (212 cm)
GUY, you are required to reach the red line 212 cm with the shoes on.
LADY, you are required to reach the red line 212 cm without the hills but you can tip toe.
For those who pass the requirement will be continue for Group Discussion/Role Play.

Group Discussion/Role Play

The same room set up as the 1st stage, 2 big circle seats in the function room with approximately 15 candidates in a circle. In this stage everyone will get a same question/scenario stated on the card. You have around 10-15 minutes to discuss with group members and come out with answer. After that, will start with the role play part which interviewer will ask everyone a question based on the scenario given. At this part, basically you will have to reject people and i guess they want to see how fast you think/respond to impromptu situation whereby to say NO in a manner way and give your best solution.

The question/scenario i got for this time was like this, 'You are the manager of ABC Cruise company, the only cruise company in this city. Due to system error the room was fully booked, there is only 2 vacant room to be given among the 8 guest and this is the last trip of the cruise for this season."  Kindly discuss and choose who to give the room and why?

~ Travel Agent
~ Minister of Transport - on holiday
~ Elderly lady - ticket from son as present
~ Honeymooner - on holiday
~ Student - graduation party
~ Famous party girl - 1st time visit
~ Loyal customer
~ one more i forgot d ><

My group choose to give Elderly lady and Loyal customer the room. Why elderly lady? because she is old and this might be the last chance for her to travel, life is too short and we dunno what will happen to her tomorrow. Why Loyal Customer? because they are very loyal to our company and he/she probably love our service and will share with others about our cruise. Therefore more people will know about us and pay a visit to our cruise.
After came up with the answer, interviewer start to asked one by one randomly what will you do for the other customer who in the list and didn't get the room. Here start the role play.

Interviewer : What will you do for the honeymooner?
Candidates A : Bla bla bla.....

Interviewer : How you reject the Minister of transport?
Candidates B : Bla bla bla.....

and so on....

We take approximately 1 hour to completed this Group Discussion/ Role Play. As usual the reference number have been called will be proceed for the next stage which is English Test.

If you ask me what is the most challenging and difficult part of Emirates Airline interview i will probably say the role play session. Because I have been failed for twice on this stage which i feel i'm doing well and all the candidates tell me i'm firm and confidence during answer the question and how i give solution. But end up still failed so i'm abit phobia for this stage ><

English Test

You have 1 hour for the English Test, all in objective, no longer write essay =) The English test is not really difficult to understand but the answer is a little bit tricky for me.
For those who pass for this stage will be called by number and remain on seat to complete the pre-joining form and some paper work. You will be brief on what to bring, the date and the time for Final Interview.

Final Interview

Its an one to one interview in a function room. First of all, you required to submit an updated CV, Formal wear photo and Casual wear photo.
